boku no kokoro?
William Simmons (Saugerties, NY) 5/9/2010 7:24 PM
I named my sword Kokoro, simply because at first glance I was merely overwhelmed by the beauty of this piece to the point of -- however cheesy as it may be -- feeling tiny tugs at me heart-strings. After enjoying the "taste" of this eye candy, I was then prompted to challenge myself and put 'er together. The `ignorant American` that I am, I do suggest with experience that you use the instructions even if not the first time through. =D After some set-backs, which were easily overcome with tenacity, I was ready to give Kokoro a swing or two and see just how fancy she feels. An absolute thing of seduction when in my hands. Although the price is astronomically low, the quality for beginners - to even not-so-beginners, screams, "Buy me!" The fittings were tight, wrapping is comfortable, grip is firm, blade is.. well, don't swing it against Cranberry Containers (with their thick plastic) filled with water and with the cap on; you'd lose. All in all? Amazing sword for the price. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a practice instrument or a simple decorative piece. Word of warning though, it is not a toy... although mine bent like one. 4/5 stars :D Thanks SwordsOfMight, I'll definitely be buying more from you-all in the future. ^_^

I like it for the price

the sword is great and it is great for beginers. the tsuka is very tightly wrapped and it has a very nice blade. I originally thought that it had a blood groove though. All together has great durability.

its all pretty awesome...I really liked how tight the wrapping was, awesome. Its only downfall is a single scratch on the blade

Good deal for the price

I received mine today. I was pleasantly surprised at how tight everything feels with this sword. I was slightly disappointed at the ugliness of the blade. It does have a secondary bevel which I knew from the other reviews. But the blade is almost as dull as a butter knife, with a lot of scuffs on the blade (no rust which is awesome). I bought it with the plans of learning how to polish the blade of a katana so it will be a good piece to learn on. Overall I am surprised at the quality of this sword compared to the price of it. If your looking for something to learn with this seems to be a good one to try things on. On other thing. The Tsuka has a surprisingly tight cotton wrap on it. I guess we will see how it all holds up to some cutting once I get it sharp.

Very Pleased

Timely Shipping. Excellent construction. Received a few extra pieces which was nice. Unfortunately the wooden peg holes did not line up easily and took a fair amount of work to make it fit, but everything is extremely tight, so make certain you get it on right the first time! Was mildly disappointed when mine came mostly assembled, but pleased that I could take it back apart easily enough, then reassemble it. Only thing that had not been assembled were the handle and the pegs. Not a bad thing, just interesting.
