the product itself once assembled is great, the only problem was getting there. i recieved the wrong screws, i got 2 1/2cm thick 1" long screws, wich is about 1/4 of an inch too short to catch the inner threading and securely fasten the sides to the center piece. So i had to go and buy my own. But ignoring that oversight(which im sure it was and most likely an isolated incident) it looks wonderful, and as far as holding bokken, it will hold them much better if you lay them down on their rubber stoppers right above the tsuba.
4/5 for lack of instructions, wrong screws, and few minor dings.

available at other websites, this is a total bargain. Not the thinner wood, flat black finish softwood stands. I put this next to one of those, and the difference is striking. Me likee this one far better. The only comparable lacquer stand starts at $50 and they go up from there. At this price, why would you not buy one? Great bang for the buck.

It's an ok buy. Looks good on the wall. It dosen't hold bokken very well but I don't think it was made for that. I'll be buying from SOM again.
