This has to be the best value for a fully functional katana on the market. I have bought several for friends and every one has been beautiful, the furniture is well crafted, all are sharp and well made.

WOW!
Just recieved my Edo Katana yesterday. I recieved it along with a Masahiro blade I also purchased. They are the first fully functional Katanas I have ever bought, thanks Jason for all your help! I am really pleased with this Katana. Looking down the mune, the blade is strait as a nun on a Sunday afternoon. The yakiba is of a shallow notare. It is really georgous and appears to be clay tempered. The whole katana and the craftsmenship blew my mind for the price I paid for it. It was sharper than the Masahiro blade and the quality of all the work in tsuka was first class. The ornaments where superb. If SOM offered the other 4 Edo Katanas available,
I would probably buy 1 of each. I give this Katana a rating of 4.5 and Highly recomend it.

I've had this Edo sword for a little over a week now and I'm very happy with it. I would have rated it 5 stars but there were a few minor things wrong with mine (maybe I just got a bad one). If you look down the Mune you can see the blade slightly bending. Also there were metal shaving stuck in my Ito, but I was able to get these out with some tweezers. All in all a good sword that is great for cutting.
