Better than expected

As usual a quick delivery. When I got this shirasaya I was blown away as to how sharp, light and geometry of the blade; it has a VERY tight fit within the tsuka. Only one micro problem I have with this shirasaya is that the tsuka is so tight fitting, it is kinda hard to remove the tsuka so I could add fittings to it to make it a custom.

Very Nice

This shirasaya katana is very nice..The hamon has been wire-brushed, but thats ok..Tsuka is tight on nagako. I understand that wood grain will change from product to product, but the grain on mine is very beautiful. No splinters, cracks, checks, or anything. The dark water buffalo horn at the mouth of the saya is a very nice contrast to the lightness in color of the wood. A very nice blade for a custom project. Blade is very sharp. Only problem with mine is the blade gets stuck abaout 1/2 way to 3/4 of the way inside the saya. Overall very nice though.

well worth it

This is the bare blade for Bushido Shinto JL-808 and has the sharpest kissaki I've ever felt on a production sword. By weight Im guessing 1060 steel as this is no flimsy toy, saya is well made and snug, no rattles here. From the same forge that made the infamous Masahiro Bamboo. Just buy one, once word gets out they wont last long...2 thumbs up (1 bandaged!) KK
