Awesome Nagamaki.

Well, I bought this and i got it a week ago. As soon as pulled out of the box...I was very impressed. Really beautiful blade, and i have already tried it out. It is razor sharp, It's also heavy which is nice. The only thing thats bad about this Nagamaki, Is that the blade is not full tang. So that alone is a problem, because if you hold it past the second mekugi, It's just weak and flimsy, Sadly mine already cracked from there. So now i just leave it as a decoration piece, which looks wonderful in the living room. Other than that, This is one really cool collection piece! Enjoy!

Excellent training tool for strength building (though the nagamaki moves more like a jo than a katana). The blade is a bit over-long for me (almost a nodachi), but is extremely thick and wide (edge to back)--almost twice a standard katana. The fixtures are very nice copper, the wrap is tight and even (but has that fuzzy quality of cheaper cotton ito), and it is overall nicely balanced. The brushed hamon is fairly passable, and the blade itself is beautifully shaped and polished. The only real cons: The scabbard mouth was hammered-nail tight and needed a lot of filing. The same is real, but has a few visible seams as it was laid in sections (not too bad, though). Impressive for the money. Already a favorite.
