read other reveiws before ordering, only gripe is that it takes a little work to remove tsuka. great balance and as for sharpness i quartered a thrown orange cleanley right out of the box.

I bought this sword back when the site was still the dragons edge, anyway its got good balance and a pretty thick blade. The edge was pretty good for 60 dollar sword and it cut well. once went through a frozen soda bottle filled with ice. With a little help from a wet stone this sword could sell for much more in my opinion. Over all this a wrothy sword for practice and display and if you have given thought to buying this than you might as well pick it up while you can.

Great sword but a little dull! No problem, was able to sharpen to a razor sharpness, and it cuts great! Could not remove handle to replace the tsuba but is still a great buy.

Absolutely Beautiful!! Tsuka was extremely tight and solid,as well as all the fittings, the Tsuka ito was of good quality and the diamonds are really uniform, Same' had large "emperor" nodules on one side! Very solid sword, although it needs loads of sharpening, not really sharp, and the tsuka seems to be stuck on the nakago after mekugi are out. But an absolute beauty, Saya is nice as well although it is a little loose, but that can be easily fixed. Get it if you can for sure. Great Service, even though it was back ordered.

I used this katana once and i must say it is great. the blade is very sharp on mine, and it cuts great for tameshigiri. Excellent 5/5
