Well put together, fittings and wrap tight. Blade very well polished and very sharp, should make a good light to medium cutter. Habaki a bit grungy, will take no time at all to clean up. Balance point about 6 or 8 inches from tsuba. Heavier than the swords I have with bo-hi, which brings me to my one disappointment: no bo-hi. The sword in the movie clearly sports one, but this blade has none, contrary to the claims of "Authentic" and "exact replica" made above. This is a glaring inaccuracy. But it is the only criticism I can make of this blade. With a hi, it would get five out of five. Without, only four. Still a wonderful addition to my collection. The Japanese characters engraved on the blade are nice, but a little hard to see at a short distance. If they were darkened for a bit of contrast, this would not be a problem.
