Have you removed your mekugi pegs from your samurai sword only to have them break on you? This happens more than you might think and until now, you have been stuck as there are very few places to buy Mekugi. We have made a special order with a manufacturer to get you these mekugi at a very cheap price.
In case you are unfamiliar with Japanese sword terminology, a Mekugi is the little peg or dowel that fastens the tang of your sword to the handle. It passes through one side of the handle, through the tang, and then to the other side of the handle.

Always good to have a few extra mekugi on hand. These are a uniform thickness that should be tapered before use, I shaved mine with a razor blade until they were just slightly larger than the old ones,as they will compress slightly during insertion. Placing a piece of chopstick over the end to take the force of pressure during inserting will keep the surface of the mekugi from damage. My brass mekugi hammer ate the old ones..bamboo on bamboo is much less damaging. Thanks Jason!

The mekugi arrived quickly, but they are much too big for my Katana. My sword was ordered from China through eBay. Anyhow, I've ordered an Odachi from SoM, I'll have to wait and see the differences between my sword and a SoM sword. Overall, excellent service!
