Musashi Akuma Katana

I am very impressed with the Musashi Akuma Katana. Very well made and constructed. The ito wrap is very tightly done, same is real and very prominent. The menuki are a bright and shiny gold which provides the perfect contrast. Blade is sharp enough to shave hairs off my arm. Display box is a nice touch and well made. Ordered on a wed., shipped on thurs., and came in on following tuesday..so not counting when UPS doesn't work, 3 1/2 to 4 days in transit...not bad..faster than some of the others out there..Very nice! I dont practice with katanas so the sharpness isn't really a factor it is sharp but i think could use a sharpening if you are gonna actually use it... tight handle wrap and great fittings overall I personally feel it was worth the purchase

Just recieved this katana and was impressed right out of the box. The sharpness of this rivals my Hanwei XL. I own quite a few Musashi's and will continue to buy them as long as they keep up the the quality i have come to know from them. A must have!!!!

I was getting concerned that I ordered the Musashi Akuma Katana and it took it a week to arrive but I guess patience is a virtue. The sword arrived and I really like the feel of it. Very sharp, cut my finger cleaning the blade and oiling it. The polishing of the blade was excellent. I have not cut with it yet, want to learn the proper way first so as not to damage the blade. I recommend the sword to anyone looking for a very nice weapon for cutting. H. Park

To be honest I didn't expect much from such an inexpensive sword. It's extremely sharp and cut through a goza like it was nothing. It's nicely balanced and easy to use. I think it would be a good first sword for someone on a budget. Now the bad. While it is sharp, it's perhaps too sharp. That made the edge very brittle and easily damaged by a bad cut. The light weight of the sword made it nice to wield but also made it easy to bend. My biggest grievance is the quality of the fittings. My ito snapped and my kashira fell off after a couple of my brother's bad cuts. All in all, it's not durable but I think that's to be expected for a katana at such a nice price.
