Musashi Black Bamboo Katana

I am almost afraid to post this review... please don't read this and buy them all up before I can order some more. I have heard great things about musashi swords from different review sites like swordbuyersguide.com (a brief mention there, but SOM is mentioned well)Here is the great debate on forums... is the hammon real or not for the inexpensive price. Some have stated that they believe it to be acid etched. Well the price may not be high, but to me it is a good chunk of money, if it's still another "wall-hanger" fake. So I just had to find out. My bamboo arrived this afternoon, and i have been trying to polish the line away and instead of getting duller it is becoming more distinct. so i tried chinking the edge on a brick... a mild blemish. this thing came with a certificate stating HRC55. I believe that it is true and the hamon as well. I have a sword that is certified at HRC58 and performs about the same with this test. I would not advise you to try it unless you know how to repair the blemish with a good sharpening stone. but I am very well pleased and impressed with this Musashi Bamboo. Just leave me a couple of them for later, okay. Oh this is my wife's birthday present and being my student as well, she is just as picky. she was amazed with how light and the speed of control. make sure that if you do more than hang his on the wall that you take professional lessons from a martial artist. this thing is razor sharp. the box that it came in looks like it was cut with a box knife after our first test cut. also read up on blade care...this is real carbon steel, not stainless. WOW i cant stop talking about this wonderfully made piece of art. I need to stop before you get tired and edit my review for being to long. Thanks SOM.
