A proper box, every sword over $100 should ship with one in a perfect world. Clasps and handle are standard as you'd see on any sword box. The hinges are also standard issue, which on a box like this, become sub-standard. Go to Home Depot, buy a couple of nice small brass hinges, and you're good to go. The stock hinges are ok for standard-issue red and black pattern sword boxes, because they're thinner wood. This box needs something a bit better, hinge-wise. The styrofoam pattern under the lining may be a bit tight around the cleaning kit. I had to put some pressure on to latch the lid with a CK inside. You may want to open up the lining and trim the styro, but I personally chose not to. The Musashi logo on the top was poorly stenciled, so a small disappointment. If yours isn't up to snuff you may have to do as I did, and repaint it by hand. Not a big deal, and fun to do. 3/5 due to the minor issues mentioned.
