The Practical Shinobi Ninjato, (SH1071) whose construction patterns closely that of the Practical Katana, is a wonderful addition for those studying the Way of the Ninja. The blade is made of hand-forged high-carbon steel and is differentially tempered using a traditional claying method. All the fittings (koshirae) are done in antiqued black iron. The ornate tsuba displays the kuji-kiri (energy-channeling hand positions) employed by the mystical ninja. The tsuka is wrapped in a synthetic ray skin (same), and the tsuka-ito is done in imitation black leather. The saya has flat black finish with demon-head bindings for the black Japanese cotton sageo and an intricate kojiri on the end of the saya. A sword no practitioner of Ninjutsu should be without.

I just got it today and i have to say i am extremely satisfied it came nice and secure in the package and when i examined it it was way more beautiful in person its very sharp, light, and the perfect size if your looking for a ninjato look no further i would recommend this to anyone wanting a ninjato.

This ninja sword is extremely easy to control and it delivers clean cuts even though its blade is straight. You can use this sword 1 handed and still cut though most things. Infact up to today, all kinds of bottles and cartons are severed cleanly by it. Those large detergent bottles are also easily cut through with minimal dent on them.
Great sword, but the handle wrap can be a turn-off for some. That's all.

This is a very impresive sword I currently came across one of the paul chen practical ninja-tos and it exceded all my expectations. This is a sword that I quote "no practitioner of ninjutsu should be without.

I purchased this sword from another site 3 1/2 years ago. I had to give $270 + for it. Its well worth as much as some of Chen's highly expensive swords. But here at SOM you can get it for $180. That's more than a good deal. You're basically stealing it. I have some more swords that are wayyyy more expensive than it is and I would choose this shinobi-to over any of them! The cutting technique is a little harder to understand than regular tameshigiri, because of the lack of curvature. But once you get the hang of it you'll never care if you ever see another curved katana.
