We get alot of questions here at Swords of Might. One of the most asked is "What is the BEST katana you have?" Well, we usually have a hard time answering that question, but it has been answered for us. This new Paul Chen sword, The Tori Katana, is without a doubt one of the finest Japanese swords to ever grace our site. It all starts with a masterfully hand crafted blade which is folded out of ASSAB K120 C Swedish steel. The polish is done so as to bring out the best hada (grain pattern) your eyes will ever see. The blade is formed with traditional geometry of the Paul Chen line so cutting is a breeze. The beauty doesn't stop with the blade. The scabbard is a "fingerprintless" brown lacquer with genuine buffalo horn accents and a "clam shell" holding portion. Iron tsuba with crane design and a handle wrapped in gorgeous brown suede with black same (rayskin) underneath. A simply incredible example of traditional swordmaking.

Although some may think that this sword is expensive, you are getting far more than what you pay for with this investment. This sword performs as well as some of the other swords that I have done tameshigiri with, but for thousands less. I was astonished to find out that it was not a custom work of art (though it is) but in fact, a very high end production sword. It will make an excellent addition to martial artist's collection.
