bad buyThe outward appearance was like the store photo. the blade was not all that sharp. I couldn't even cut the cardboard box it came in,the blade could not even slit my finger. the blade came to me scratched and smugged. when I pull it out of the scabbard , it gets all this waxy crust like stuff on it. I wouldn't recommend it to my friends at all.

Better than advertisedArrived very quickly, upon opening box the weight of the sword stood true and then I opened it and it was no less than spectacular. 5 out of 5 star quality. Thank You!

Good KatanaWell put together, unlike the other reviewer my blade is straight. I would call this moderately sharp to sword sharp, it easily cuts two liter bottles. Definitely the centerpiece of a collection

Nice Swordi received the sword as a birthday gift,it was a nice surprise.My girl freind pick it out without me knowing and for her to be a novice at picking out swords she hit this one out the park.Lots of detail in this sword and the blade looks beautiful.Very satisfied with my gift.

sword ownerThis ito-maki tachi is one of the nicest I have seen for the price. The price does not due justice to the quality of this sword. The biggest down fall to this blade in my opinion would be that the blade is through hardened and not differentially clay tempered. That would be the icing on the cake if it was clay tempered. The fit and finish of this tachi was amazing, the quality of the casting of sakura (cherry blossoms) in the fittings in very well done. The sori (curvature) of this blade is very accurate for a production sword as many of the knock offs do not have a deep saka sori toward the tsuka. One down fall is the blade length of this for a tachi, if it were longer it would be dead on as many early tachi were longer with the sori toward the tsuka to defend from mounted horse. But were also cut down in later eras so it could be a nice replica of this time. The white cotton ito is thick and fuzzy and is not traditionally cross over but serves it's purpose well and cotton tachi sageo is very nice in design as many production tachi do not have a proper sageo pattern or tied correct. The blade has an etched hamon and is a dark color Damascus steel, but after doing some polishing on mine I found it to brighten the blade and lay down the grain hada of the folds to exhibit a traditional look. The tsuka has real same panels and the nakago is a very tight fit with no rattles in the fittings or movement when swung. I love this sword for the price and overall quality.
