Loading... Please wait...If you have seen a Zatoichi, then we are sure you have wanted the blind man's sword at one point since then. The blind man was a killing machine with his famous zatoichi, and now you can own your very own. This battle ready functional sword made by Ryumon is a fantastic replica of the one used by the famous blind swordsman.

I got my Zatoichi today and all I can say is wow! I took the sword out of the box and immediately wreaked a little havoc on an apple tree in my yard. Considering the price paid, I was expecting the blade to chip or at the least scratch a little, but no such result was seen! All that came out of this little test was a pile of sliced apples and a few cut limbs. Very impressive performance. Ryumon hit this way out of the ballpark, and SoM offers a terrific price for the item. My only suggestion would be that if you plan on using this as a walking stick (a job which it does quite well) I would buy a rubber pad to put on the end of the saya to prevent damaging the beautiful finish!

Make no mistake, this sword is a great item and I prefer it more then the Paul Chen version. The blade is very sharp, and the hamon while I believe is fake or etched, is very nice none the less. What bothered me about the Paul Chen version is the seam where the sword meets the saya was very rough and uneven while this sword sword has a perfect and clean seam. The display box and included sword bag is an excellent bonus as well. Can't beat the price either! You will need to clean this sword a few times after unsheathing and re-sheathing it as the saya does leak ALOT of wood particles and wax but it will stop over time, no big deal. Be aware of quality control. I've seen 3 of these swords in person and one of them had an off-center habiki and blade of course. 5 Stars

Was a little skeptical about how one of these would hold together without visible means in the handle but its very solid. Very sharp and with a nice polish (first time I held it before reading about it here I thought it was stainless). A little forward weighted due to the light wood handle and the lack of furniture to provide balance but still nicely maneuverable. Can be shook out of the saya but the saya will not slip off with just its own weight so it could be used as a guide cane as in the movies.
