Very nice, especially for the price!

This Tanto is even better looking in real life than on pictures, and when regarding its price, it is excellent. It makes me want to go cut things! The fitting of the blade into the collar (habaki, I do believe) isn't perfect, but that's the only negative thing I have to say. I heard Ryumon stopped shipping their swords in wooden boxes, but I got my Tanto in a very nice wooden box with yellow lining - a very nice touch that makes it feel exclusive.

Good job Ryumon

The Folded Dragon Tanto from Ryumon is very nice..You can see the layers of steel from the folding process, but the hada is very subtle. Kissaki is ground, but adds to the genuine appearance of the hada. Fittings are very tight, but ito (while tightly done) is kinda irrgular with uneven diamonds. I got the red saya, but is more of a cherrywood to burgundy color, which is nice. Not as sharp as it could be, but easily remedied. Overall a nice tanto.

Ryumon does it again

I am very impressed with this tanto. Top quality and craftsmanship make this a must have. You can see the layers upon layers of steel in the blade and the edge is very sharp. Very detailed dragon tsuba and the same and ito are tight. The fittings are sturdy and the tanto has good balance. Great buy. Always great shopping at Swords of Might.

Nice little tanto

My dragon tanto arrived quickly and with a really nice box. Saya is very nice, and blade rests snugly in it. Blade was nicely patterned and the layers are really nice to look at. Could have been a little sharper, but all in all, it's a really nice blade and a good company to work with. This will not be my last purchase from Swords of Might!

Pros: The steel itself appears to be of a genuine damascene quality. The same also appears to be genuine. The fittings are well cast and of a more unique variety. Fittings are nice and tight, no rattling. Cons: The kissaki, like many other makers, was clearly formed from grinding after the final polish on the blade itself which detracts from the beauty but it does suggest the honest layers of the steel. The ito is uneven and low quality material and wrapped improperly with a loose finishing knot. Unable to locate a pin holding the handle in place. Overall a worthwhile piece to pick up but will require a little work for those with finer tastes.
