Great Sword for Display
Andreas Owald (Centreville, VA) 10/13/2009 5:05 PM
I'm in no way a sword expert, or connoisseur by any measure, but of the wooden swords I've purchased for display, this one is perhaps the best I've come across thus far. I'm very happy that Swords of Might offers this expertly-detailed product and more pleased to own at least one of these - presently I own two. It's a great presentation sword. Much like the other reviewer noted, I wouldn't go using this for anything other than display. Those looking for a combat sword should consider something else, but if you need one for display, or as an accessory for something, like a costume, this one is great.

This wooden sword was really well done. Brass habaki, pegged, and fits perfectly into the sheath. However, the wood that it's made from feels very soft and flimsy. Very pretty, but not really strong or heavy enough for any kind of practice. I gave it a 3 because it looks so nice and when it's in the sheath it looks just like a real one, but definitely not useful for anything but looking at. If it was more sturdy or heavier then it would have gotten a 4 or 5, but it just feels to light and flimsy.
